Hi, I’m Nikita Botberg — friends call me Niki. I’ve been cooking since I was 17, and from the very beginning, it felt like home. Over the years, I’ve worked across several European countries, growing from line cook to executive chef and training in a variety of restaurants, including Michelin-recognized kitchens.

My foundation is modern French cuisine — it taught me respect for ingredients, balance, and technique. Along the way, I added Italian craftsmanship, Scandinavian simplicity, and the bold energy of Pan-Asian flavors. Fermentation plays an important role in my work, helping me build depth, umami, and character in every dish.

Today, my style blends French structure with Asian accents, living flavors, and thoughtful simplicity. No unnecessary complexity — just clean flavors, strong technique, and attention to detail. My goal is simple: to bring people together through food and help create moments worth remembering.

We have used quite a few personal chefs, some we try and don’t have back. But Nikita, after our first bite we knew we were likely going to be asking him to come back. He really aims to please and this started with menu selection beforehand. Something for me, and something for my wife. She had salmon and I scallops, and wow we both were impressed. Chef knows how to cook, plate, and serve and the flavors back this up. We are looking forward to trying more experiences with Chef Nikita!

Chef Nick helped curate the perfect menu for a Mothers Day Brunch. My wife (and all of us) loved the extensive meals he whipped up - the salads, saffron pasta with shrimp, slow braised beef, basque cheesecake - even the veggies - all of it was a hit. I appreciated his flexibility, communication and his attention to detail. He took over and made sure everything from setup to cleanup was taken care of and he made my life super easy. I highly recommend Chef Nick - we will be using him again!

Thank you Nikita Botberg for organizing a wonderful dinner in San Diego for me and my wife. Everything was perfect and very delicious, the dinner was organized in Asian style, I especially liked the sushi with wagyu beef, wagyu with pear, fried leaves with jalapeño sauce. Everything was to a very high standard, I recommend it!

Chef Nick and Ramil were amazing!! They catered a dinner for 25 for a graduation party and a brunch the next day! The food was delicious. He offered a large spread of food with variety and taste. Thanks to Nikita, my teenage son had a wonderful birthday dinner with 9 of his friends at our house. My son wanted a Mexican themed dinner. We didn’t make it easy for Nikita. We needed dishes that were vegetarian, gluten free, dairy free as well as meat dishes with meat. He definitely delivered. The food was a hit with everyone.

No, it’s not required. You can book first and we’ll plan the menu together later. I’ll send you a customized proposal based on your preferences, and you can approve or adjust it. If you’d prefer to choose from a variety of dish options, I can also send a list for you to pick from — everything is flexible.
It depends on the guest count and menu complexity, but I usually arrive 2–3 hours before dinner and stay on-site for around 4–6 hours including cleanup.
Yes, absolutely. I love intimate dinners. Just keep in mind the minimum service fee is $650, even for 2 guests. The preparation, planning, shopping, and travel time are the same regardless of the number of guests.
Yes, I cook everything fresh in your kitchen. I bring all the necessary equipment and tools for cooking. All I need is a clean, equipped kitchen with a stove, fridge, and countertop space.

I have experience with keto, diabetic, gluten-free, dairy-free, and even pollen-related allergies. All restrictions will be listed in the service agreement for you to review and confirm before signing.
My pricing covers everything you need for a personalized in-home chef experience: menu planning, coordination, shopping, travel, cooking, and cleanup. The only separate cost is for the ingredients, which are reimbursed based on store receipts. The minimum service fee is $650, even for two guests, as preparation and effort are the same regardless of party size.
Yes, I require a $200 deposit to secure your date. This deposit is non-refundable and will be applied toward your final balance. The remaining payment is due after the event.
